AfricInvest Europe is a French Private Equity Company, regulated by the French Market Authority (AMF agreement number GP -16000028).
A subsidiary of AfricInvest Group, AfricInvest Europe is led by a dedicated team, which manages the Franco-African Funds (“FFA”). The FFA 1 and 2, “Fonds Professionnel de Capital Investissement” or FPCI, are the first cross-border funds dedicated to the French Small and Medium-sized companies, which are willing to invest and grow in Africa. A pool of diverse investors have subscribed to the funds, all with the vision of accelerating the growth of African and French SMEs through development projects across the two continents. These investors include Bpifrance, French private-sector groups—Société Générale, Orange and BNP Paribas, and Proparco (the AFD group). In addition, a large part of the funds’ subscription comes from African investors, including the Caisse Nationale de Prévoyance Sociale de Côte d’Ivoire (CNPS), the Moroccan insurance company Saham, the Moroccan industrial and financial group Financecom, the Central Bank of Kenya Pension Fund, private investors from Kenya and Nigeria, as well as AfricInvest itself.
To date, the FFA have already made 16 investments in innovative and fast-growing French SMEs in sectors as varied as health, industry, education and the environment. The FFA invest unit tickets between €2m and €6m, either directly in a minority or alongside renowned co-investors.
AfricInvest Europe aims to support investee companies through its experience, financing capabilities, extensive network and the expertise of its teams in France and Africa in an effort to help them accelerate their growth and access new markets. It will also look to facilitate partnerships with the relevant commercial, financial, industrial and technological partners in each market.
In addition to financial returns, the fund will focus on the impact of its investments on companies’ governance, transparency, employment creation and respect for social and environments value.
